Adorable Photo Albums

A few years back, while selling some
we were inspired by a 13 year old girl ("Miss Slade") who was selling these fun photo books.
We made some as gifts that year for Christmas.
Be inspired to make your next photo book, or make one for a gift!

To get started:

* Buy book(s)
We bought our photo albums at Wal-Mart. They were around $5 and have 80 pages & it holds 160 4x6 photos.

* Decide on what colors you want to use.

* Find paper(s) you like.
If you can not find what you had in mind- create it yourself. For example, I really wanted brown, red, & white. I wanted it "cabana style".... not quite sure it turned out how I pictured, but I am o.k. with that!

* Find matching ribbons.
Remember to have different sizes, textures, patterns/prints, and colors.

* Gather accessories/embelishments. (optional)
Some ideas are words, quotes, initials, flowers, ribbons, buttons, rub-ons, etc.!

* Measure your paper & size it to fit over the cover.
Start larger instead of smaller... that way you can cut down the edges at the end.

* Cut your paper with a paper cutter for straight edges.

* Start adding the ribbon.
Add as much or as little as you like. I like to start by adding the same ribbon to 2-3 different rings. Keep the same ribbons spread out.

* Lay out the design you like for the cover.
 If there is anything that needs to go thru the paper - remember to do it before glueing the cover down.

* When you have everything ready, go ahead & glue the paper down to the front cover.
(glue stick works fine)

* If there are any more embellishments, put them on.

* Add some memorable pictures inside.....

& Waa-La!

Here are some more books we have done:

We also made a small book that has a calendar inside:
